Launch of the BMW CE 02 India in the second half of 2024

Launch of the BMW CE 02 India in the second half of 2024

The BMW CE 02 electric scooter, which is produced locally, is anticipated to be more expensive than the TVS X electric scooter.

We announced earlier this year that BMW was going to introduce the domestically produced CE 02 in India. This is the first electric vehicle (EV) to come from the TVS-BMW collaboration. TVS, a firm situated in Hosur, not only built the product, but it also worked with BMW to design the platform.

But BMW chose to introduce the CE 04, its larger sibling, in India prior to the CE 02's release. For the past few years, the 04—BMW's first large electric scooter—has been available for purchase abroad. However, the 04 is made in Berlin and imported as a CBU into India, which accounts for its high asking price. This is not the case with the CE 02.

Though by no means an inexpensive electric scooter, the CE 02 will be significantly more economical than the 04 in this regard. For instance, in every foreign region where it is sold, the pricing is more than that of the 310cc versions, even though the 310s are also produced at the same TVS facility.

It is possible that the CE 02 may make its Indian debut in the later months of the current year. BMW's pricing approach in India will be intriguing to watch, although it will undoubtedly be far higher than that of the TVS X electric scooter, which retails for Rs 2.49 lakh, ex-showroom.
